THE INTERNATIONAL MONTESSORI CENTRE TODAY

The International Montessori Centre located in Via Abruzzo 2/A Perugia, under the director of the Prof. Luciano Mazzetti, today works in collaboration with the Italian University for Foreigners of Perugia and with the Maternal and Infantile Department ASL 3 of Perugia.
Furthermore many students wish to attend the courses of the Italian University for Foreigners, not only to study in depth the Italian language, but also for an approach to the literature and culture of our country.
The agreement with the Italian University for foreigners of Perugia allows the students, who attend the training courses at the International Montessori Centre, to have a discount in the Italian language courses.
The collaboration with the Maternal and infantile Department ASL 3 is useful to training students for the course “Assistant to infancy”.

Our Centre is growing in every sense!

Besides the Elementary school (6-11) and secondary school (12-18) courses in addition to the 0-3 and 3-6 courses, today the Centre offers to its students a more beautiful, more comfortable, wider school. In fact, inside the old International Montessori Centre, located in the historical centre of Perugia, we have acquired this year a new bright and beautiful area where we have created some spaces to ideally divide the courses, in order to give the students a chance to practise using the Montessori materials in a more comfortable and profitable way.

“The ‘prime mover characters’ connected with the intelligence are the language and the activity of the hand used by the intelligence to produce work” (Maria Montessori “The secret of infancy”).

Besides the classes hels by prof. Luciano Mazzetti, prof. Lidia Celi, doctor Fiammetta Marchionni and other prestigious representatives of medical, scientific and pedagogical ambits, it will also be held a short seminar on pictorial art to allow the students to experiment through their work how to recognise the value of the first movements of the children’s hand and their creative activity.

“The first movements of that tiny hand towards the things, the energy of that movement, represents the effort of their “ego” to penetrate the world”. (Maria Montessori “The secret of infancy”).
