Sports course Scientific High School
Sport can educate and miseducate, but when it does educate, it is a highly civilised tool. Because it teaches victory, defeat, courage, sacrifice, responsibility… because it teaches how to challenge life and not to endure it.
The academic path offered by the Scientific High School of the Montessori International Centre is focused on reaching the following objectives:
- Knowing how to apply different methods of sport practice in different fields.
- Knowing how to elaborate critical analysis of sport phenomena, methodological reflection on sport and its related experimental procedures.
- To be able to to search for strategies aimed at favouring the discovery of the multidisciplinary and social role of sport.
- Knowing how to examine in depth knowledge and practice of different sport disciplines.
- Being able to move around the socio-economical field of the territory as well as in the net of interconnections that connects events and subjects of one’s local reality, with both national and international contexts.
The sports course aims at examining motor science and sport disciplines inside a cultural frame which particularly encourage, the acquisition of knowledge and the methods of mathematical, physical and natural sciences, as well as of economy and law.
The added value of our Sports course Scientific High School is to allow every student to create an adequate study method to encourage the approach to any university, as classes are formed by a small number of students. As a matter of fact our teaching methods put students at the centre of the educational project, along with their needs, desires and aspirations. Their competences and personal qualities are stimulated and enriched, with the aim of creating a critical conscience and build the basis for a long-lasting and permanent learning.
Another peculiarity of our school is the co-presence in class of a native English teacher, who’s job is to study the main curricular subjects straight in English, with moments dedicated to conversation. This allows both the strengthening of the academic contents already studied in Italian, and the acquisition of the foreign language. This activity is placed in an academic path which allows those who join the school at a very young age to speak, read and write accurately in two different languages, Italian and English (find out more Why choose a bilingual school).
For those who will chose to continue with their studies, our private Scientific High School favours the access to both motor sciences universities, as well as technical and scientific universities, like engineering, medicine, biology, chemistry, chemistry and pharmaceutical technologies, economy, without precluding any chance to go for humanistic universities, like modern literature, psychology, and educational science.
